AI Workshop organized on 3rd and 4th September 2025 - Inaugration

Mysuru, September 3, 2025:The Training Programme on Artificial Intelligence: Content Development for MOOCs was inaugurated at the EMRC Auditorium, University of Mysore, on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Smt. M. K. Savitha, K.A.S., Registrar, University of Mysore, emphasised that Artificial Intelligence should not be seen as a replacement for teachers.

“Rather, it is an ally—one that can help monitor learners, generate new content, and adapt to diverse learning needs. Technology can aid in the learning process, but it is the teacher who truly inspires. Students today are often more informed and quick-witted than their teachers. Therefore, teachers must raise their game—with the help of AI—to stay relevant and impactful. Education must remain free, accessible to all, and delivered with quality,” she noted.

In her welcome address, Prof. Sapna M. S., Director, EMRC Mysore, observed: “We are at a crossroads today, where Artificial Intelligence has begun to dominate every field. In this regard, EMRCs across the country are conducting AI training. As EMRCs are engaged in content creation—now mostly for MOOCs—they are contributing significantly to the digital transformation of education.”

Addressing the gathering on behalf of CEC, Dr. Rakshak Jain, Project Coordinator for SWAYAM and SWAYAM Prabha, CEC New Delhi, highlighted the broader mandate of CEC. “The mandate of CEC has always been to use every form of educational communication—be it broadcast, webcast, or online platforms. This initiative is yet another step forward in that mission,” he remarked.
