April 23, 2024: Mr. Prosun Sen, Communication Advocacy and Partnership Specialist, UNICEF Office in Hyderabad, Telangana, visited the EMRC Mysore. Prof. Sapna MS, Director of EMRC, extended a warm welcome to the guest and introduced his area of expertise to the staff, setting the stage for a productive discussion.

The meeting began with Prof. Sapna initiating a dialogue about the potential for a postgraduate MOOC on Health Communication, exploring collaborative possibilities. Mr. Sen shared valuable insights on how such a partnership could enhance health communication content on the SWAYAM MOOC platform.
Later he highlighted the evolving nature of storytelling, emphasizing the necessity for creating empathetic narratives to increase audience engagement. Moreover, Mr. Sen stressed the importance of including a call to action in our stories, enabling further collaboration and individual contributions to the cause.

In the context of content creation at EMRC, Mr. Sen pointed out the importance of targeting and reaching the intended audience effectively, which he identified as a critical goal. Prof. Sapna underscored the significance of receiving feedback to ensure the communication cycle is complete and the content remains updated and relevant.
The visit concluded with a guided tour of the EMRC studio and other facilities, where Mr. Sen had the opportunity to observe firsthand the facilities available for educational content development.
